iPhone Survival Apps

Are we now at the stage of technology and tools evolution where we can use a mobile phone a dependable source of “how to” survival knowledge?

As this emerging list (below) of iPhone survival apps demonstrates, it seems that this is now the case. The list below is a rather random list of resources, so in our next post on this subject, we will start to organize these apps and knowledge resources by the basic topics of survival- Shelter, Water, Food, Fire, Family and Tools (Primitive and Modern). Of course, most all survival situations will demand that in addition to using your mobile phone as a surveil knowledge / information resource, you will also need to prepare yourself mentally and  have a basic survival kit ready to go. You will find other posts on this blog about practical survival kits and how to prepare yourself mentally to deal with fear and anxiety in a survival situation.

There are clearly huge risks (renewable power, water, EMP attacks, loss of cell coverage) to only depending on your mobile phone in an emergency situation? But, with proper planning an preparation, we believe that these risks can be mitigated.
